Our Handplanes

Handplanes are for body surfing. They give you extra lift when going down the line on your chest. They are truly amazing and allow you to really surf along the wave, making you feel so much more a part of the wave itself. It’s a much more elemental experience while also being much less difficult – there’s no big board to get out into the lineup with and no popping up to do.

They are all made from repurposed waste materials such as salvaged vehicle seat belts and discarded flooring. They are shaped in the same way as a surfboard is, from a 50/50 nose through to sharp tail rails. We make 2 shapes in various sizes (maxi, midi, mini) depending on your body type and bodysurfing preferences, named, of course, after some suitable coastal fishies.

The Blueline

A wider template fishtail handplane that gives slightly greater hold in the wave while also reducing back spray. Tim’s choice.

The Greenland

A longer template diamond tail handplane built for line speed and stability in the pocket while offering extra support under the wrist. Ben’s choice.
