Fins

Our fins are painstakingly handmade out of offcut maple and salvaged aluminium sheet. No fibreglass or resin. They have been through 5 iterations of design to ensure they’re strong and ridged enough to function well, i.e. hold you in the wave and not slow you down too much.

We’re currently only making longboard fins to order, but here are some examples of what we’ve recently made:

In all honesty, the industry of fin manufacture is a bit of a red herring. Unless you’re an actual professional, you really won’t notice whether you’re surfing on a bog-standard set of FCS Blacks or some fancy pants carbon fibre ones. They just need to be stiff enough. Size and shape does make a difference however, particularly with longboard fins, which we focus on. We only make them in order to make use of waste materials.
